Broccoli Florets – 3 cups / 240 gm

Salt – 2 teaspoons (or as per taste)

Turmeric Powder – ½ teaspoon

Hot Boiling Water – 4 cups
-
Rice flour – 2 tablespoons
-
Curry leaves – 10
-
Dry Red Chilli Flakes – 2 teaspoons
- Garlic Powder – 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Onion Powder – 1 teaspoon (optional)

Indian Curry Powder – 3 teaspoons
-
Cooking Oil – 2 teaspoons (for air fryer method)
-
” ” – 2 tablespoons (for stove top method)
Special Ingredients:
- Indian Curry Powder
- Rice Flour

Step wise pics Procedure for ‘Low Calorie Curried Broccoli in Air Fryer or Stove Top’:
Prep Work:
Gather all the ingredients at one place. In a wide mixing bowl, add the hot boiling water, salt (1 teaspoon) and turmeric powder.

Transfer the broccoli florets into the mixing bowl, to blanch. Leave it on kitchen platform for 15 mins.

Prepare the Curried Seasoning:
Meanwhile, into a wide mixing bowl, add all these>> South Indian Curry Powder, rice flour, fresh curry leaves, salt, dry red chilli flakes. Mix up everything.

Coating the Broccoli Florets:
When the florets have blanched for 15 mins, strain the water, transfer the florets into the bowl of seasonings.

Using a spoon, gently turn the florets over the seasoning mix. See that each floret is coated all over.

Indian Curried Broccoli on Stove Top Pan:
Put a frying pan on stove top over high flame. Add oil, let it heat.
Transfer all the broccoli florets, stir fry gently but turning each.

After 5 mins of stirring continuously, switch the flame off.
Transfer to a serving bowl and serve immediately. Done!

Air Fryer Indian Curried Broccoli Florets:
Spread the air fryer mesh with a layer of parchment paper. Brush it with oil throughout.
Place the florets in a single layer, see that they are separated from each other.

Close the air fryer. Set>> mode to AIR FRY, time to 5 mins, temperature to 180°C / 356°F.
No need to reverse or flip.

The timer beeps, when the timer is done. Open the air fryer, remove the florets gently and serve immediately. Done!

Tips & Storage:
- Adjust the salt & spice as per your taste.
- Feel free to use frozen broccoli florets too. In that case you need not blanch the florets. Go for prepare the seasoning and coating, roasting.
- Oil Free / WFPB options: Just skip brushing the air fryer mesh with oil. Then, this recipe totally fits into plant based, oil free, whole foods diet.
- Oven Baked Method: Follow the same instructions just like the Air Fryer method.
- Storage: I wouldn’t prefer to make and store them, as the crispness of the broccoli would be lost.
- Hence, it would be rather good to make them and serve immediately.

- 2 Wide Mixing Bowl
- 1 Frying pan (for stove-top method)
- 1 Air-Fryer for air-fryer method

- 3 cups Broccoli Florets (or 240 gm)
- 2 teaspoons Salt (or as per taste)
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder – ½ teaspoon
- 4 cups Hot Boiling Water
- 2 tablespoons Rice flour
- 10 count Curry leaves
- 2 teaspoons Dry Red chilli flakes
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder (optional)
- 3 teaspoons Indian Curry Powder
- 2 teaspoons Cooking Oil (for air fryer method)
- 2 tablespoons " " (for stove top method)
Instructions
1 cup=250ml; ¾ cup=180ml; ½cup=125ml; 1 tbsp=14ml; 1 tsp = 4ml
