Crispy Paneer Cutlets / Paneer Tikki made either in an Air Fryer or Stove Top, is a quick snack recipe made with very few ingredients.
Here is a super simple recipe for making an evening snack using homemade paneer, few Indian spices and with very less cooking process.
This Paneer tikki recipe is an old recipe from North India which is so easily prepared and is equally suitable for small to large parties.
Using an Air Fryer for this easy paneer recipe, has its own merits. Mainly, to use ZERO or 1 tablespoon of oil, for an entire batch of 15 paneer cutlets. And in fact they turned out more crispier when compared to the pan fried paneer tikki.
As I did not use onion, garlic in here, this simple Aloo Paneer Tikki recipe is very much suitable for fasting period (during Indian religious festivals). Hence, I am adding this Indian street food snack to my Satvic Recipes Collection>> No Onion – No Garlic Recipes

Possible Alterations for the recipe, ‘Air Fryer Paneer Tikki / Paneer Cutlets’:
Garam Masala Powder: can be replaced with any of these>> Chaat Masala Powder, Cumin / Jeera Powder.
Dry Red Chilli Flakes: Coarsely grind black pepper is the best alternative.
To avoid Bread Crumbs: You can eliminate, and fry the paneer cutlets as is. But the output wouldn’t be crispy.
Replace Corn Flour: Here, rice flour is the best alternative. You can use in the same way.

Prep Work:
Gather all the ingredients at one place on the kitchen platform. At first, get the potatoes boiled.
Spread the bread crumbs on a small plate.
Take the corn flour into a wide plate mix with little water (¼ cup) and prepare the corn starch / corn slurry.

Prepare the Mix for Aloo Paneer Tikki:
In a wide mixing bowl perfectly mash the boiled potatoes using a potato masher or a fork.
Then, add all these>> grated paneer, salt, dry red chilli flakes, garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves.

Gently, mix everything well. Make the mixture into small round balls.
Then press each ball against a flat surface to make flat patties as shown. Repeat the same for the entire mixture.

Wet each paneer patty on both sides by putting it in the corn slurry.
Immediately, put it on the bread crumbs. See that the crumbs stick throughout the entire patty.
Repeat the same for all the paneer patties. Set them aside.

Pan Frying ‘Potato Paneer Cutlets’:
Put a wide frying pan on stove top over high flame. Add the oil (3 tablespoons). Let it heat.
Place the patties. Reduce the flame to medium.

Shallow fry on one side for 3 mins and then gently turn each patty to the other side.
Now add the remaining (2 tablespoons) oil along the outward circle of the pan.
Let them fry for 2 more mins until they turn golden brown colour.

Remove them into a serving plate. Done!

Air Fryer Crispy Paneer Cutlets:
Brush the air fryer basket with oil or use oil spray. (optional step)
Place the patties directly on the basket. Or else spread the air fryer mesh with parchment paper & then place the paneer patties.
Close the air fryer lid. Set the Mode to Air Fry, Temperature to 200C / 390 F, time to 5 mins.
