Hey readers, hope you are all enjoying the bright sunshine in this beautiful summer weather. And being the season for grilling, here is one recipe, which I tried with just 5 basic ingredients along with Paneer, which are easily available in any pantry.
Added to this, it takes only 15 mins for the dish to be served. You NEED NOT marinate the paneer but just season it.
Grilled to golden perfection, these paneer skewers boast a tantalizing char that adds depth to their flavour. The paneer’s creamy interior contrasts beautifully with the slightly crispy exterior, creating a captivating textural experience in every bite.

Paneer: Is a good source of protein and calcium. It is low in carbs too. Hence always added in weight loss diet.
Peri Peri Spice Powder: Typically includes ingredients like red chili peppers, garlic, lemon juice, vinegar, and a blend of aromatic spices. Hence, this spice mix is rich in anti-oxidants.
Low Oil: As we use very little oil, this recipe is useful for low fat, low calories, weight loss purposes.

Ingredients:
- Paneer Cubes – 20 pieces (3 cm thick)
- Olive Oil – 3 tablespoons
- Peri Peri Spice Powder – 1½ tablespoon

- Garlic Powder – 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Dried Oregano – ½ tablespoon
- Dry Red Chilli Flakes – 1 tablespoon
- Cooking Oil – 2 tablespoons (for stove top method)

Tips & Storage:
- Whether use the skewers or not, the output doesn’t make difference in taste. But, its easy to handle the sticks while grilling & serving.
- Adjust the salt & spice as per your taste.
- Remember, if you fry the paneer more than the mentioned time, they would turn hard. The charred paneer has to still be soft inside.
- Oven Baked Method: Follow the same instructions as that of the air fryer method. Except that you need to pre-heat the oven for 5 mins before hand.
- Storage: Once when they are totally prepared, you can store them in an air tight container, but place them well separated.
- Put the container either in fridge or in freezer. And take them out, air fry them for 5 mins, before serving.

Peri Peri Paneer Kebabs (Air Fryer and Stove Top Grill Methods)
Equipment
- 1 Wide Mixing Bowl
- 1 Grill Pan (for stove top method)
- 1 Air-Fryer for air-fryer method
- 6 Skewers / Kebab Sticks
Ingredients
- 20 count Paneer pieces (bite size cubes) (3 cm thick)
- 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1½ tablespoons Peri Peri Masala Powder (store bought)
- as per taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (optional)
- ½ tablespoon Dried Oregano (herb)
- 1 tablespoon Dry red chilli flakes
- 2 tablespoons Cooking Oil (for stove top method)
Instructions
1cup=250ml; ¾ cup=180ml; ½cup=125ml; 1 tbsp=14ml; 1 tsp = 4ml
Prep Work:
- Gather all the ingredients at one place. If you are using frozen paneer, get it to room temperature, by thawing or by defrosting in a microwave.
Seasoning the Paneer Cubes:
- In a wide mixing bowl, add all these>> olive oil, salt, dry red chilli flakes, mixed dry herbs, peri peri powder, garlic powder (optional).
- Add the paneer cubes and coat them thoroughly with the spicy oil.
- Take the skewers and pierce the coated paneer cubes to each. Just remember to keep the paneer pieces well apart from each other.
Grilled Peri Peri Paneer on Grill Pan:
- Put the grill pan on stove top fire until medium flame. Brush with oil (tablespoon) throughout the pan. Gently place the coated paneer cubes. Let them fry.
- After 5 mins, gently turn each one to the other side. Let them fry for 5-10 mins, until charred as shown. Then, switch the flame off. Using tongs, gently remove them onto a serving dish. Done!
Air Fryer Method Peri Peri Paneer Skewers:
- Spread the air fryer mesh with parchment paper. Place the skewers / kabab sticks on it. Set MODE to AIR FRY, temperature to 180ºC/ 360ºF, time to 10 mins. Close the air fryer, let them fry.
- When the time is done, open the air fryer, gently reverse each skewer to the other side. Close the air fryer, set to same settings as above. Later, when timer beeps, remove and serve. Done!
