Air Fryer Roasted Brussels Sprouts, is a recipe that transforms these humble Brussels sprouts into crisp, golden delights.
This is my first attempt with this winter vegetable, and I felt very much satisfied how awesome it has turned out. And my family were after me for another serving! 🙂

What is Cajun Spice Mix Powder:
Cajun seasoning is a spice mix powder / spice blend originated in USA. It is known for its bold and spicy kick.
The blend typically includes cayenne pepper, paprika, and various other spices, which impart a noticeable heat to the recipe.
It often contains smoked paprika or other smoky elements, contributing a delightful smokiness to the dish where its used.
Also has the herbal aroma as it commonly includes herbs like thyme, oregano, and sometimes basil.
Many Cajun spice mixes incorporate garlic and onion powders, enhancing the savoury and umami aspects of the dish. This creates a robust and well-rounded flavour.

Ingredients:

Brussels Sprouts – 20 count / 360 gm (fresh/frozen)
- Hot Boiling Water – 4 cups
- Olive Oil – 4 tablespoons
- Turmeric Powder – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – as per taste
- Cajun Spice mix – 4 teaspoons

Paprika / Dry Red Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon
- Freshly Crushed Black Pepper – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic Powder – 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Onion Powder – 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Mozzarella Cheese – ½ cup (optional)
Special Ingredients:
- Cajun Spice Mix Powder

Step Wise pics Procedure for, ‘Air Fryer Cajun Spiced Roasted Brussels Sprouts’:
Prep Work:
Gather all the ingredients at one place. Get the cheese to room temperature. Crush the whole black pepper. In the kettle get the water boiled.
Take each Brussels sprout, trim little of the edge on both sides. Then cut each into 2.

Boiling Brussels Sprouts:
Take the hot boiling water into a microwave friendly glass bowl. Add the turmeric powder, little salt and all the halved Brussels Sprouts.

Put the bowl in microwave, let it boil for 10 mins. Remove the bowl from microwave.

Spice Coating:
Into a wide mixing bowl, add all these>> olive oil, salt, freshly crushed black pepper, paprika/chilli powder, Cajun spice mix, garlic powder (optional), onion powder (optional).
Mix everything, using a spoon.

Add the Mozzarella Cheese to the spice mix bowl, but its optional.
Instead of adding the cheese at this stage, just add it after you roast the Brussels Sprouts.

Now drain the boiled hot water and transfer the boiled brussels sprouts into the bowl with spice mix.
Give a gentle mix such that all the brussels sprouts are coated with the spices.

Air Fry Brussels Sprouts:
Spread the Air fryer mesh with parchment paper / butter paper. Gently place the coated brussels sprouts. See that they do not touch each other.
Set the air fryer>> MODE to roast, time to 10 mins, temperature to 200ºC / 390ºF. No need to reverse.

The Air Fryer beeps when the timer is done. Then open the air fryer, gently remove the roasted Brussels Sprouts into a serving dish.

For additional taste, sprinkle few table spoons of grated cheese onto the hot sprouts. Done!!

Tips & Storage:
- The Cajun spice mix, that I used here is a store bought one.
- You can use fresh Brussels sprouts (or) even frozen Brussels Sprouts for this recipe.
- Boiling the Brussels sprouts can be done on the stove top for 10 mins on high, in a sauce pan filled with water.
- Adding cheese to the spice coating is entirely optional, you can even add cheese just after roasting the sprouts.
- Oven Baked Method: Just follow the same recipe but you need to pre-heat the oven for 10 more min, before placing the baking tray.
- Storage: You can transfer the roasted brussels sprouts into an air tight container.
- Then store them at room temperature or in the refrigerator. But re-heat in the air fryer for 2 mins to get back that crispiness.

Crispy Air Fryer Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Cajun Seasoning
Equipment
- 2 Wide Mixing Bowl to boil the sprouts in Microwave, to coat the sprouts
- 1 Air-Fryer for air-fryer method
Ingredients
- 20 count Brussels Sprouts (360 gm) (fresh / frozen)
- 4 cups Hot Boiling Water
- as per taste Salt
