Raita, is an Indian version of yogurt based dip. It can be made with many variations by adding different veggies & spices either raw or cooked.
Tomato raita / Indian style, tomato yogurt dip is the easiest of all the raitas I could think of at any moment. Just, add and mix…its that easy which is ready in maximum of 5 mins.
It is actually a chop, mix & make, NO COOK, yogurt based Indian style dip / side dish recipe.

How to serve, ‘Tomato Raita / Yogurt based Tomato Dip (Indian style)’:
Tomato Onion Raita is generally served with Indian style rice dishes, like these pulao, biryani, below:
- Green Beans Masala Rice
- Methi Pulao / Rice with Fenugreek Leaves
- Sweet Corn – Cashew Rice
- Pudina Carrot Pulao / Mint Carrot Rice
- Green Moong Beans (Sprouts) Pulao (Instant Pot / Stove top)
- Spinach & Chickpeas Pulao Rice (South Indian style)
- Lentils & Veg Rice (Instant Pot Indian Recipe)
- Sesame Rice / Til Chawal / Nuvvula Annam
- Kobbari Annam / Coconut Rice
But otherwise it can happily be savoured as a dip, with chips, crackers, roti, naan bread too.
It can also be served as an accompaniment / side, in a meal platter having curry, Indian pulao, roti.
I would even use this as a spread for simple sandwiches, and as a filling for tacos. Its a quick fix you see. 🙂
